It’s a good thing Dev Mandhyan is an optimist. On the heels of his agency appointment in Villa Park, Ill., Dev read some daunting headlines: economic downturns, a lagging home market, soaring gas prices, and fewer new car sales.
Dev started 2007 with no customers. At year’s end he had more than 1,000 policies -- making him the third-highest producing new agent in the Company. It was more than a positive attitude that helped Dev and agents throughout the U.S. and Canada add 1.9 million policies and accounts in 2007.

Underwriters work with agents and their teams to answer coverage and rating questions.
“We’re both interested in writing profitable business, growing multi-line households, and offering quality customer service. At the end of the day, we both want a happy customer – one who’s willing to stay,” explained Rachel Frank, a Fire underwriter who works closely with Dev.
