I think that’s what surprises people most … all the different things you can do around here. It takes a lot to support a company our size, so there really is something for everyone. I’m not just saying that. You just decide what career path you want and go for it. I came to State Farm about 10 years ago through a high school co-op program. I’ve done so many different things since then. I really love my current team. I worked with them in my prior job, so I knew what a great area I was joining.
So, what do I do? I’m a technical analyst – security. It’s one of the specialties within the TA role. It would take me all day to tell you everything my team does. In really simple terms, we support IT security compliance efforts and help ensure consistent processes are used to address any vulnerabilities. We also provide a huge central repository that helps monitor and manage IT security follow-up activities. I’m just one person in a pretty big place, but I see every day how the work I do makes a difference.
