After graduating from college, I decided I wanted to utilize my knowledge of the Hispanic culture and the Spanish language along with my communications skills for a career. State Farm was perfect for me because of its r high demand for Spanish speaking employees and increasing presence within the Hispanic market. I have only been at State Farm for almost two years now, but I have been presented with numerous campaigning opportunities within the Spanish-speaking markets.  Communication is a key aspect of my job, some days I might be bogged down with hours of e-mail, but I always have the chance to interact with executives and vendors face-to-face.

Although I am a very new member of the State Farm family, I have discovered a number of great things about working for such a giant insurance company. State Farm is a very conservative and stable company which is reassuring for workers, especially among tough economic times. Because State Farm is the leader in its industry, the company has a presence everywhere whether it is sports, music, etc. One time I was even involved with the Lebron James ribbon cutting ceremony at the Boys and Girls Club during NBA All Star Weekend. 

As a company we do not only recognize the importance of professional development, but also work-life balance. For the first time in my career, I don’t feel guilty for taking paid vacation because I feel like I have earned it. There are always extra things to participate in outside of the company; right now I have joined a softball league. Being here has opened my horizons, there is so much more than just insurance!
