Why State Farm?
I worked for a large Fortune 100 company, but did not feel I was providing value on a large scale. I had an automotive industry background and I knew about State Farm from growing up in Central Illinois. My wife was a State Farm employee and loved going to work everyday. I thought State Farm was a stable organization and I was impressed with the wealth of opportunities within the company.
What I enjoy most about my work…
...are the challenges. I am in a very technical role, but it is important for me to understand the different lines of business and how I can help contribute to solutions that enable our company, employees and, most importantly, our customers. Our IT infrastructure is one of the largest, most complex in the world. Also, I have the opportunity to work with very smart and diverse individuals.
There are so many career opportunities within State Farm. Although we are a large organization, we still have a family oriented feel. You will feel valued as an employee from day one.
Outside of work…
...I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. I also teach web server security and cryptography courses at a University. I also love golf! I love it, I love it, and I love it…
