Great Lakes Zone Operations Centers

The Great Lakes Zone is comprised of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan – home to several metropolitan locations (Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit and East St. Louis) as well as Bloomington, Illinois the Corporate Headquarters for State Farm. We also have offices in smaller communities across the three states.

The following departments are located in the Great Lakes: Claims, Underwriting, Multicultural Markets, Public Affairs, Agency, Marketing, Learning and Development, Administrative Services, and Finance.  The Claims and Underwriting areas have the most hiring opportunities.

The corporate culture of the Zone is strongly supported through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).  Our ERGs promote diversity and inclusion, emphasize respect and foster engagement among the employee group and communities.  They often coordinate and facilitate partnerships with local community organizations as well as encourage employees to show a State Farm presence at numerous events throughout the year including United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and Culture Fests to name just a few.   

In Illinois, State Farm has 1,038 agents and 2,818 Great Lakes Zone employees servicing over 4.94 million policies in the state. Illinois, which is home to State Farm headquarters, is home to over 17,000 corporate and Great Lakes employees. There are 14 claim offices and 33 agency field offices throughout the state. Indiana is home to 528 agents and 1,071 employees serving over 2.15 million policies. There are 9 claim offices and 18 agency field offices throughout the state of Indiana. Michigan agents number 652 and work with 1,410 employees to service over 2.4 million policies. State Farm has 10 claim offices and 25 agency field offices in Michigan.
