Mid-America Zone Operations Centers
The Mid-America Zone is comprised of roughly 6000 agents and employees in three neighboring states – Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. The majority of employees are housed in operations centers in Newark and New Albany, Ohio, and in Murfreesboro, Tenn. New Albany is a suburb or Columbus, and Newark, with a population of just over 47,000 people, is located just 25 minutes from Ohio’s capital city. Murfreesboro, a city of nearly 95,000 people, is located 30 miles southeast of Nashville, Tenn. All three operations centers are located near major international airports and large universities (Ohio State University and Middle Tennessee State University).
Mid-America’s operations centers house departments such as auto and fire claims, commercial and personal lines underwriting, learning and development, public affairs, administrative services, human resources, marketing, finance and agency. There is a substantial Corporate presence in the Zone. The New Albany Operations Center is solely comprised of Corporate Life/Health operations, while the Murfreesboro Operations Center adds State Farm Payment Plan, Property & Casualty Claims and Claim Automation and Procedures departments to its base of zone employees.
Mid-America associates are extremely involved in the communities in which they live. Each June, the Zone celebrates Good Neighbor Service Month (GNSM) as agents and employees are encouraged to volunteer with local community and/or charitable groups. In 2008, associates contributed almost 2700 volunteer hours to GNSM. Additionally, State Farm provides significant support to community causes like the March of Dimes, United Way, Relay for Life and Operation Feed.
