State Farm® Education Excellence

classroom

State Farm supports efforts to ensure all children have access to an education that will allow them to achieve their greatest potential, preparing them to be active participants in a nation that continues to be global leader.  We have moved away from what is described as “checkbook philanthropy” to an accountability model that identifies goals, measures results and engages in collaborative efforts.

Service-Learning

Service-learning is a teaching strategy that provides a connection between what is taught in the classroom to application in the real world through research, identification of solutions and service.   State Farm supports service-learning because it combines a hands-on approach to mastering subject material while fostering civic responsibility.  State Farm is recognized as the nation’s corporate leader in service-learning.

Teacher Excellence

State Farm encourages the advancement of teaching through a variety of initiatives including a long term partnership with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards®.  Through NBPTS, State Farm has supported teachers across the country in achieving certification as a master teacher and enabled countless students with the opportunity to have a national board certified teacher in their classroom.

Systemic Improvement

In the last five years, State Farm has provided grants to support systemic change and improvement programs.  These programs require a longer time commitment to implement significant change at the classroom, school and district level.  We believe that a healthy public schools system defines a healthy, vital community.

Financial Education

Each year, young Americans spend roughly $150 billion. Offering economics and financial education in our schools is key to helping young people become better consumers and decision makers. Ultimately this impacts our nation's economic stability.
