The Good Neighbor Citizenship® Program
Our people are dedicated to building safer, stronger and better educated communities
The Good Neighbor Citizenship® program is the umbrella for State Farm® and State Farm Companies Foundation charitable efforts including volunteerism. The 2007 Good Neighbor Citizenship budget is $60 million. Through Good Neighbor Citizenship, we work to build safer, stronger and better educated communities across the United States and Canada.
Good Neighbor Citizenship also supports charitable organizations with programs that fall outside our primary focus areas, but are important to our communities and associates. Associates are encouraged to leverage their passions through the Foundation’s Good Neighbor Grant and Matching Gift programs. In 2006, organizations received nearly $2.5 million in Good Neighbor Grants and colleges and universities received more than $3.2 million in Matching Gifts.

Support of the United Way Program
Each year, State Farm Companies Foundation contributes to local United Way offices across the United States. The Foundation's contribution supplements the individual contributions of State Farm associates who participate in office campaigns around the country.
United Way brings people, resources and whole communities together to focus on the most important needs in the community:
- Building partnerships
- Forging consensus
- Leveraging resources to make a measurable difference.
In 2006, State Farm donated $1,624,948 million to United Way offices across the United States and in Canada.
