State Farm® Safe Neighbors
Auto Safety from the car seat to the driver's seat
Child Passenger Safety
Over the past ten years, State Farm has joined forces with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to research safety issues related to children riding in automobiles. The study, an initiative called Partners for Child Passenger Safety (PCPS), is the most comprehensive investigation of how and why children are killed or injured in vehicle crashes. Collected data has been critical in improving state and federal regulations regarding child passenger safety.
Teen Driver Safety
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers. One in four crash fatalities in the United States involves 16- to 24-year-olds. Something has to change. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and State Farm have partnered once again, this time to learn more about what motivates teens in their driving behavior. Named the Young Driver Research Initiative, a wealth of information about what it means to be a teen driver offers many opportunities to address and minimize the risks – to do everything in our power to keep them safe.
Seat Belt Safety
State Farm and Meharry Medical College formed an alliance to research why seat belt and child safety seat use is lower among African Americans. The Meharry-State Farm Alliance is using the findings to close the disparity by influencing legislation and through culturally appropriate public awareness campaigns.
Safe and Sober
State Farm is proud to be a national sponsor of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), whose mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this crime and prevent underage drinking. Protecting You/Protecting Me is part of MADD’s comprehensive approach to prevent underage drinking through proven-effective, education-based programs and efforts to limit alcohol access to youth. Protecting You/Protecting Me is a nationally recognized, research science-based curriculum, named a Model Program by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. |
