What is "Partners for Child Passenger Safety" (PCPS)?

Through Partners for Child Passenger Safety’s (PCPS) “research to action” approach, the effort has significantly contributed to the following improvements in child passenger safety:

• A 15 percent reduction in the number of children killed in motor vehicle crashes
• Continuous decreases in the number and/or the severity of injuries for four-to eight-year-old children
• Increased booster usage from 15 percent in 1999 to 54 percent in 2005
• Partnerships with safety advocates and legislators in more than 40 states to promote more comprehensive child restraint laws
• Upgraded laws in 38 states and the District of Columbia, including a booster seat requirement
