Good Neighbor Citizenship

For more than 80 years, State Farm has made and kept an important promise – to always be a good neighbor. And part of being a good neighbor is being a good citizen. Many of State Farm’s 85,000 associates helped with auto and home safety initiatives, kept commitments to neighborhood revitalization and addressed community needs and educational priorities in 2006. State Farm is a strong supporter of associate volunteer involvement in initiatives they’re passionate about as well as programs that matter to State Farm.

Auto and Home Safety Initiatives
State Farm’s long-standing research and outreach collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) started with a focus on how and why children are injured or killed in motor vehicle crashes.  We've shared the knowledge we've obtained with our partners, associates and customers nationwide to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities of children.

Neighborhood Revitalization
In 2006, State Farm associates participated in activities in the five Gulf states, resulting in:

  • 596 community activities
  • 82,886 people reached
  • 3,324 associates participating
  • 15,833 associate hours donated.

Educational Priorities
To help people realize their dreams, we support programs that enable home ownership, create safe neighborhoods and build strong communities. And to help make future dreams come true, we are committed to education by helping to raise the levels of achievement of our nation's teachers and students.
