Diverse suppliers bring spirit of competitiveness and broad perspective 
State Farm’s Supplier Diversity Program focuses on buying goods and services for the Company from businesses owned by minorities, women and people with disabilities. “The goal of the program is to support a diverse supplier base which, in turn, helps broaden and strengthen our customer base,” said Leonard Bell, Supplier Diversity Director.

“When we ramped up the program in 1998, we had a handful of diverse suppliers and our total spend was about $19 million,” said Bell. “Last year, that number was up to more than 170 diverse suppliers and the amount increased to $170 million.”
