State Farm Child Safety Day
State Farm’s long-standing research and outreach collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) started with a focus on how and why children are injured or killed in motor vehicle crashes. We've shared that knowledge with our partners, associates and customers nationwide.
To help parents learn about the correct use of child restraints, the State Farm Community Volunteers network hosts Child Safety Day events across the nation in the months of May and September. Agents and employees participate at car seat inspection days -- and parents and caregivers learn how to properly buckle up their children by certified Child Passenger Safety technicians.
More than 50,000 child safety and booster seats have been inspected during State Farm’s Child Safety Day, held annually since 2001.
In 2006, there were 222 inspection sites nationwide. Collectively, 9,853 car and booster seats were inspected. In all, 1,387 volunteers donated 6,122 hours. |
