Good Neighbor Citizenship - Volunteerism

State Farm National Volunteer Recognition
The National Volunteer Recognition program was created at State Farm to remind associates that we appreciate and value their commitment to the communities where we live and work. It also promotes and encourages volunteerism. In 2007, the company honored 23 employees from across the company for their volunteer contributions. As part of the recognition, each of these associates selected a qualifying 501(c)3 organization to receive a $500 grant, made on his/her behalf.

State Farm Child Safety Day
To help parents learn about the correct use of child restraints, the State Farm Community Volunteers Network hosts Child Safety Day events across the nation in the months of May and September. Agents and employees participate at car seat inspection days – and parents and caregivers learn how to properly buckle up their children by certified Child Passenger Safety technicians.

In 2006, there were 222 inspection sites nationwide. Collectively, 9,853 car and booster seats were inspected. In all, 1,387 volunteers donated 6,122 hours.
