Companies today have more options than ever for building energy-efficient, low-impact facilities. We’ve made it our mission to make our buildings as environmentally responsible as possible.
Our portfolio of major facilities has an EPA Energy Star (weighted composite) score of 84 as of December 2008, which means our buildings are more energy efficient than 84 percent of comparable buildings in the US.
We incorporate skylights and large windows into our building designs to maximize natural light and minimize energy waste.
Lighting is a large source of energy use in a typical building. To minimize energy waste, we use energy-efficient ballasts, LED exit signs, and occupant sensors.
Additionally, our exterior lighting is designed for safety and security while reducing light pollution and lessening the impact to area plants and wildlife.
By using native plants for landscapes instead of lawn, we reduce irrigation needs, fuel for mowing, and pesticides/herbicides use. These plants thrive in their local environment and help prevent soil erosion.
