State Farm® Executive Vice President is New IIHS Board Chairman
Bloomington, IL, January 30, 2008 -- The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named Brian Boyden as chairman of its board of directors. Boyden’s position as IIHS board chairman was effective January 1, 2008.
Boyden, a State Farm Insurance executive vice president, has been a member of the board since April 2004.
"The Institute has been working for more than 50 years to help reduce injuries, deaths, and property damage on our nation's roads. It's a goal we all share," says Boyden. "I look forward to working with my colleagues and fellow board members on this very important and challenging work."
Boyden began working with State Farm in 1982 as a claim representative. He spent the majority of his career in the claims department, and assumed his current position in 2001.
"Brian's strong leadership will help us continue to build on our successful research and crash test programs in 2008," says Institute president Adrian Lund.
