Education Excellence National Partnerships
Youth Service America
Youth Service America (YSA) was founded in 1986 with the mission to strengthen the effectiveness, sustainability, and scale of the youth service and service-learning fields. YSA envisions a powerful network of organizations committed to making service and service-learning the common expectation and experience of all young people in America.
YSA is the founder of National Global & Youth Service Day (NGYSD). NGYSD, the largest service event in the world, expanded from a single day to include events over a weekend to alleviate any conflicts with religious activities or school. NGYSD engages millions of young people and focuses national attention on leadership, the positive contributions of young people, and the service and service-learning initiatives that take place in communities year-round. State Farm® is the presenting sponsor for NGYSD.

State Farm Youth Advisory Board
In a move to develop a better understanding of business and stronger leadership skills in students, State Farm recently named 30 young adults to serve on its second Youth Advisory Board.
“This is our opportunity to partner with students to help improve their education. After all, today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and workforce,” said Edward B. Rust Jr., Chairman and CEO of State Farm Insurance.
The new State Farm Youth Advisory Board is a diverse group of students ages 17 to 20, selected from nearly 650 national applications. They will play a leadership role in creating a $5 million-a-year State Farm funded initiative and in overseeing the awarding of grants to student-led service-learning projects, which will address issues like teen seatbelt use and disaster preparedness.
