If your grant does not meet our three focus areas, you may be considered from one of our very limited discretionary categories listed below. Please review and select the best option that meets your programs needs.
Arts and Culture
The following types of programs may be considered:
- Cultural
- Concerts
- Museums
- Art festivals
- Creative arts
- Orchestra
- Operas
- Zoos
Business Groups & Associations
The following types of programs may be considered:
- Public policy research
- Promotion of business and/or business expos
- Economics
Civic
The following types of programs may be considered:
- Voter Education
- Organizations focused on youth (not education)
- Leadership programs
- Community volunteer recognition
- Constitution education
Environment
- Improving Earth and Water
Health and Wellness
The following types of programs may be considered:Health-related causes/research:
- Foodbanks
- Homeless shelters
- Domestic Violence shelters
- Services for people with disabilities
- Childcare
- Summer camp
- Training for advocates for abused & neglected children
- CPR training
Other Education
The following types of programs are important for the community, but do not fit into the Service-Learning, Teacher Development, or Systemic Improvement categories:
- Mentoring
- After school programs
- Character education
- Scholarships
- Tutoring
- Career development
- Books
- Adult literacy
Other Safety
The following types of programs are important for the community, but do not fit into the Safe Neighbors categories.
- General safety conferences
- General financial conferences
Possible exceptions could include Chambers of Commerce (501c6) and Volunteer Fire Departments (501c4).
