Foundation Grants

State Farm Companies Foundation was established in 1963 as an independent private foundation. The Foundation is primarily committed to education, helping to raise the level of student achievement in our elementary and secondary schools, as well as supporting key higher education initiatives.

The Foundation is a separate nonprofit organization funded by the State Farm Mutual Company. The Foundation provides funding for our Education Excellence (education) initiatives that are national in scope:

The Foundation supports higher education initiatives through scholarships and the Matching Gift Program.

Scholarships Programs

Because the State Farm Companies Foundation contributes to national, established scholarship programs, it does not provide scholarships directly to individuals.

The Foundation provides funding to scholarship programs that are administered by the American Indian College Fund, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. An independent committee of scholars administers the Doctoral Dissertation program.

Note:
State Farm Companies Foundation is not involved in the selection process for scholarships. Independent agencies or a committee of college educators selects all scholarship winners. State Farm Companies Foundation reserves the right to discontinue or change these programs at any time.
