Questions about Privacy Notice
Q: I just received your "Notice of Privacy Policy." (Or saw it on your Web site.) What is this?
A: It is a summary of State Farm's privacy principles. We take your privacy seriously.
- We do not sell customer information
- We do not provide customer information outside State Farm for marketing purposes
- We require any person or organization providing services or products to our customers to protect the confidentiality of State Farm customer information
- We give you the choice to limit how certain information is shared among State Farm companies
- This notice also explains how State Farm protects customer information
Q: Why am I receiving this privacy notice?
A: In November of 1999, a Federal law, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB) was adopted. This law requires State Farm to share in writing our privacy policy.
Q: How often will I receive this notice?
A: State Farm will provide you with a notice of our privacy policy on an annual basis, as long as you are our customer.
Q: What if your privacy notice changes? How will I know about it?
A: If our privacy policy changes, you will receive an updated notice.
Q: Where can I get a copy of your privacy notice?
A: You can obtain our Notice of Privacy Policy in the following ways:
- We will mail you a copy every year
- You may request one from a State Farm agent
- You can access it on our Web site at www.statefarm.com
Q: What happens if I do nothing? Will I be harmed?
A: Nothing happens, State Farm will continue to share information among the State Farm family of companies to service your policies and accounts.
Q. Can you help me with my decision about sharing my information?
A. The decision to allow State Farm companies to share information must be your decision. If you choose not to share information among the State Farm family of companies you may be required to resubmit information to another State Farm company on future applications. The decision not to share does not limit State Farm from sharing information about your transactions with us and your experiences with us.
