Get Informed! Get Involved!

YOU could be the “Key” to sharing the State Farm story with legislators!

"Knowing the system and the people involved is important to all of us at State Farm.” Chairman Ed Rust, Jr. ~ 1993

The legislative climate has changed dramatically over the years. It has become necessary for the insurance industry to take a more active role in educating and informing the public as well as elected officials of issues and concerns regarding all lines of insurance. You can help State Farm support a legislative environment that best serves our customers.

As a State Farm retiree, you understand our business. Sometimes State Farm needs the help of State Farm associates and retirees who can contact legislators to help them understand how legislation impacts our business and our customers. Government leaders want to hear about important issues from people they know and trust… people like you!

Do YOU know an elected official or other influential community leader? If so, you can help communicate issues important to State Farm, our employees, and our customers.

The Key Person Index program identifies State Farm associates who have relationships with Key Persons such as elected officials, opinion leaders, and other persons of influence in our communities.

Here are some examples of the type of community leaders we include in the Key Person Index:

  • United States Senators and their staff members
  • United States Congressmen and their staff members
  • State legislators and their staff members
  • Statewide office holders, such as Governors and Insurance Commissioners, and their staff members
  • Local elected officials
  • Media representatives such as reporters and editors

If you are willing to provide us with information about your relationship to an elected official or opinion leader, we will add you to our Key Person Index. Once listed in our Key Person Index, you may occasionally be called upon to contact your Key Person on an issue important to State Farm.

Your participation in the Key Person Index program is completely voluntary and has no bearing on your association with State Farm. Information provided for the Key Person Index is used solely for that purpose.

If you have questions about the Key Person Index program, or if you would like become part of the Key Person Index program, please contact State Farm's Corporate Government Affairs Team.
