Legislation Changes Impacting 2009 Required Minimum Distributions

President Bush signed legislation Tuesday (December 23) that will allow participants of 401(k) plans to suspend taking Required Minimum Distributions for 2009. Normally, participants who are age 70 ½ or older must take an annual Required Minimum Distribution from their 401(k). If you are required to take a distribution from your State Farm 401(k) Plan in 2009 and would like to suspend your distributions, or have any questions on this change, please call the State Farm 401(k) Savings Plan Service Center at 1-866-935-4015. State Farm Customer Service Representatives are available between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
