Alert: August 2007 -- An individual in Iowa reported being contacted by a man who gave the name "Peter" and who claimed to be working for State Farm®. The contacts were initiated through an internet blogging forum related to car enthusiasts. "Peter" offered to provide high quality auto parts in exchange for a large cash payment by the individual. This activity, however, was in no way authorized by State Farm and State Farm is not engaging in a program of this nature in any state. Individuals who believe they may have been a victim of this scam should contact their local law enforcement agencies.
