Outgoing KCHCC Chair and State Farm Agent Ramona Herrera congratulates incoming Board Chair Jay Tamsi at the recent Kern County Hispanic Chamber Installation ceremonies.

With “A Blueprint For Success 2011” as the focus, more than 500 people representing Latino businesses gathered at the 26th Annual Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet and Business Award event.

State Farm Agent Ramona Herrera, who chaired the KCHCC organization this past year, talked about growth within the organization and wished the incoming leaders success as they head into 2011.

The Shafter agent played a huge role in the planning of the Chamber’s most significant event of the year which included keynote speaker Enrique Castillo – the actor, writer, and director who stars in the Showtime series “Weeds.” Castillo stressed the importance of Latinos investing more in business and looking for ways to promote Latino businesses where growth opportunities exist.

Herrera assisted in the installation ceremony of a new slate of officers and then handed the gavel over to a new Chair, Jay Tamsi, from Nestle/Dreyer’s Ice Cream Company in Bakersfield.

State Farm is a platinum member of the Chamber and was one of the gold sponsors of the event. The KCHCC is just one of many multicultural organizations where State Farm plays a significant role.
