State Farm Runs Through The Redlands

State Farm Agent Jean Showalter sponsored 28 employees from her office, the State Farm Redlands Agency Field Office (AFO), and the Rancho Cucamonga Operations Center to “Run-Through-Redlands.”

On April 10, a couple of the employees ran the half-marathon, a handful ran the 10K, while the majority ran or walked the 5K. It was a cold morning, but spirits were high. The Run-Through-Redlands has been a big running event in the Inland Empire Area for 27 years, taking participants through the city neighborhoods and past beautiful historic homes.

State Farm employee Pat Arakawa said, “Wearing the shirts provided by Jean was great! Other runners throughout the race would make positive comments about her and State Farm.”

Pat’s sentiments were echoed by Redlands AFO employee Jackie Booth. “It was really a lot of fun being out there with so many people wearing Team Jean shirts. Jean is well known in the community, so there were a lot of thumbs up.”

Proceeds from the run will be distributed to local charities and to provide scholarships to local youth as administered by the Kiwanis Club of Redlands.

State Farm strives to live by our motto of being a good neighbor. Local events supported by not only the local agents, but employees who live in the area show the community we are there!

Jean said, “I’ve worked on the “Run-Through-Redlands” for many years. It was a rewarding experience joining the two together and living out our good neighbor philosophy.”
