State Farm Supports Safety Education

State Farm is helping the Glendora Police Department educate their community about home security, ID theft, disaster preparedness, and using 911. At the end of January, State Farm presented a check for nearly $3,000 to the Glendora Police Department to purchase educational materials and 911 kits.

State Farm received the original grant request from the Public Information Officer Nita Ulloa of the Glendora Police Department. Every year they teach more than 500 kindergartners how to properly use 911 and they make safety presentations to more than 2,000 seniors, Neighborhood Watch partners, students, and community members. The additional educational materials will make a big difference for their community.

As the nation’s leading insurer of autos and homes, educating residents on how to protect themselves and their property is an important role State Farm plays. This partnership with the Glendora Police Department is just one way we can demonstrate our commitment to the communities in which we live.

Agent Rose Wentz was at the Glendora City Council meeting where the check was presented and said, “At State Farm, we truly believe in giving back in the communities where we live and work. By sponsoring these safety panels and 911 kits through the Glendora Police Department, we can make a difference in the safety education of our local children.”

In these economic times, State Farm understands that funds are not as easily assessable for safety education; however, safety education is essential in prevention and recovery from a disaster.
