Taking Safety to the Streets

Agent Jody Jacobs explaining the importance of teen driver safety to attendees

In November, State Farm partnered with the Los Angeles Urban League for the 10th anniversary Farmers’ Market Community Health, Safety & Career Fair. As a sponsor and participant, we shared information and give-a-ways on teen driver safety.

With nearly 500 people attending the fair, State Farm had a great opportunity to share our message regarding teen driver safety and distracted driving to the Los Angeles community.

Los Angeles Agent Jody Jacobs was on hand connecting with his community and talking to people about insurance. The event wasn’t focused on gathering new State Farm customers but it did turn up nearly 40 prospective customers.

“It was a great opportunity to connect with the South Los Angeles Community and provide information on teen driver safety. We understand the importance of community involvement as an organization, and I am glad that I could participate in the event along with the Los Angeles Urban League and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Crenshaw Farmer’s market,” Jody said.

As a sponsor of the event, State Farm had a booth and delivered opening remarks at the event. This event was a part of our sponsorship for Los Angeles Urban League’s Neighborhoods@work program.

Health Deputy for the Los Angeles Urban League D’Ann Morris said, “It is great to know we have a good neighbor in State Farm interested in providing information to the community on health, wellness, and safety. We appreciate State Farm’s continued support and their willingness to collaborate with the LA Urban League on our community efforts.”
