State Farm Supports Math Education in Orange County

Assemblyman Jose Solorio speaks to parents and educators in Orange County

Assemblyman Jose Solorio speaks to parents and educators in Orange County.

State Farm donated $10,000 to the MIND Research Institute to support Orange County math education reform in our local school districts. Actively working in Orange County school districts, including all schools in Santa Ana Unified, MIND has a successful track record of dramatically improving math cores among all of the district's students. With their focus on visual learning and self-paced computer software, the program is especially important in supporting learning among English Learners.

A recent event in Anaheim focused on bringing parents and educators together to support the effort. The keynote speakers included experts as well as school district personnel and featured remarks by Assembly member Jose Solorio.

The MIND Research Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing math education in America. MIND’s research-based and results-driven approach is designed to improve the math proficiency and real-world problem-solving skills of K-12 students, and inspire a life-long love of learning. MIND’s Math Education Process, realized in the ST (Spatial Temporal) Math® integrated instructional system, consists of language-independent, animated representations of math concepts delivered via software games, which are designed to enhance students’ spatial temporal reasoning, or problem-solving skills.
