State Farm, in collaboration with the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Long Beach, hosted an informal Pre-Grand Prix Welcome Reception for the California Latino Legislative Caucus (CLLC) on Thursday April 14 at Café Sevilla in Long Beach, CA.

Two local members of the CLLC who attended included Assemblyman and CLLC Chairman Tony Mendoza and Assemblyman Jose Solorio. Mendoza addressed the crowd, acknowledging the efforts by State Farm Insurance as being key for the continuous involvement and engagement of businesses in support of local communities.

Attending on behalf of State Farm Insurance Co. in California were Long Beach Agent Vic Mady, Agency Field Executive Rob Meroth, local State Farm Public Affairs representatives, and two employees from the State Farm operations center in Irvine, Sheryl Cook, and Charles Skiffer. Cook and Skiffer are also part of State Farm’s Legislative Partners program, which helps advance State Farm’s public-policy position with a network of qualified people who develop their personal relationship with a legislator and assist his/her understanding and solicit support of positions beneficial to our policyholders.

Civic engagement is critical to the success of our business and the insurance industry as a whole. Supporting the local chambers of commerce demonstrates State Farm’s commitment to the growth of State Farm agents.
