Meet Agent Audrey McFarlin

After being asked to become a State Farm® Agent on three separate occasions, Audrey McFarlin thought it was time to start “listening to the universe.” Even though her background was in pharmacy and she was in the midst of a more then 25 year successful career as a Walgreens executive, Audrey took the plunge.

In March of 2007 she opened her office in the Chicago suburb of Palos Heights. Though she was taking over for an agent who had unexpectedly passed away, Audrey knew she still had a lot of work ahead.

“I wanted people to get to know me,” Audrey says. “So I got out in the community and got involved just talking to people to make sure they were protected in every way possible.” That protection comes in the form of auto, home, and life insurance. Her team, Helen, Kasia, Janine, and Melody, work to protect their clients for the long term.

“I believe in being prepared,” she says. “You don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. As I’ve gotten older I kept noticing as my friends lost spouses they didn’t have the right amount of life insurance. Now I can do something to change that.”

Audrey also volunteers in the community with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry, LINKS Inc., Jack and Jill of America, and 20 Prosperous Pearls. With Prosperous Pearls Audrey helped develop an investment club, Pink Profitable Pearls. Audrey also works with teen drivers and holds a child safety seat inspection every year.

“It’s a constant education for not just me, but everyone. I think it’s important to talk to all these groups about the possibilities. Being an agent is the best kept secret out there. Don’t be afraid of the challenge. If you do it right, the rewards will just come rolling in!”
