Meet Agent Greg Kurtenbach

Have you ever watched those State Farm® “Jingle” commercials and wondered, “Are those real agents or actors?” Agent Greg Kurtenbach can you tell you first hand they are real.

Greg is the sole agent in the small town of Gibson City, Ill. As a reward for his hard work as an agent for the past two years, Greg was chosen to do a State Farm commercial.

“It was incredible! After I received the call that I was heading out to Hollywood I hung up the phone and did a little dance (the worm) in the middle of my office.” Greg said. “I found out on a Tuesday… and on Saturday morning I was on a plane heading west.”

After working in State Farm’s Underwriting department for three years, Greg started to like the idea of owning his own business. “The backing State Farm gives new agents is incredible. No matter what situation arose during the first year of my agency, I knew help was only a phone call away.”

Not only does Greg get to meet new people and help them plan for the future, he’s also involved in the community. He is a member of local civic organizations and assists with a teen driver program at the local high school.

Greg can’t do this job alone, though. He has four staff members, Nancy, Ginnie, Flint and Brigid, who make sure all their customers are taken care of on a daily basis.

“Being a State Farm agent is not difficult; it just takes a lot of hard work and determination. The great thing about the agency opportunity is that the harder I work, the more I am rewarded.”
