"The Buck Starts Here"

State Farm sponsored "The Buck Starts Here" financial literacy seminar in partnership with the Economic Club of Detroit.

The event was held Tuesday, June 7th at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago-Detroit Branch. 100 participants from 9 area high schools, Universities and career technical centers were educated on personal finance topics such as: banking, credit, budgeting, and investments.

State Farm Agent Jackie Davis led participants through a challenging group budgeting exercise based on the State Farm Bank "Slice of Life" program.

To keep the presentations exciting and interactive, students were given audience response clickers to periodically answer presentation based questions. The top three scoring schools received various prizes for their hard work. All participants were then treated to a tour of the Federal Reserve.

Student and teacher response to the program was overwhelmingly positive.
