NBA All-Star LeBron James Met With Cache Valley Area Students

NBA All-Star LeBron James met with Cache Valley area students prior to the Heat/Jazz game recently.

Every 26 seconds a student drops out of high school in America. To raise awareness and encourage youth to be more (BMOR) than this startling statistic, State Farm created the national 26 Seconds campaign, which is supported by James.

The students are involved in efforts led by the nonprofit Youth Discovery Inc. and local State Farm agents, Rigo Chaparro, Lana Powell, Kaleb Kunz, Tyson Luthi, and Mark Weese made it possible for the students to attend the game and meet James. They have teamed up to provide programs to keep youth in school and encourage graduation as a first step to reaching their full potential.

The group is also staging the Cache Valley Fun Run on May 19. Proceeds from the run will fund 26 scholarships to help students in Cache Valley further their education. Students across the country can complete online monthly activities and win prizes by joining the campaign’s BMOR Project on the 26 Seconds Facebook page.
