State Farm Fire Claim Representative Rich Lichtenfeld is given the Heroes Award at the Tribute to Heroes Awards Ceremony, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A hero is defined as a person who is admired for their courage and noble skills. The American Red Cross Cornhusker Chapter recognizes our local community heroes that are our neighbors, family, friends and co-workers by hosting their Tribute to Heroes Awards ceremony to showcase these heroic individuals in each spring.

State Farm is proud to announce on May 11th Rich Lichtenfeld was presented the State Farm Insurance Heroes Award at the Tribute to Heroes Awards Ceremony. Rich is a State Farm Fire Claim Representative from Lincoln, Nebraska.

On a snowy afternoon in February, Rich was driving towards the intersection of 63rd and Adam Street in Lincoln, NE, when he noticed commotion and stopped to see if he could help. When Rich arrived at the scene he noticed a man collapsed and unconscious in the driveway. Without hesitation, Rich began chest compressions. Another passerby stopped and helped maintain the victim’s airways. Rich and the other person continued CPR until first responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. The victim’s wife stated, due to Rich performing chest compressions on her husband he is still alive and with her and their family.

“This event exemplifies our company mission because life is filled with unexpected moments and it’s the everyday hero that makes the difference,” Angelene Hennes, PA Specialist stated. “And having one of own like Rich winning this award demonstrates how our employees are committed to helping people recover from the unexpected regardless of whether they are on the clock or not.”
