Children’s Health and Education Center

Fire safety is important! To promote the need to install smoke detectors and check batteries annually, State Farm, the Children’s Health and Education Center, along with local fire departments and pizza restaurants team up annually to implement a “Delivering Fire Prevention” program. This program reaches over 50 communities across the state. On a night in October, volunteers team up to deliver pizzas to homes with children under 14, check smoke detector batteries and placement, and provide fire safety education!

Layton Boulevard West Neighbors

State Farm has announced support for the Silver City Townhomes, a community development project at 35th and Pierce streets in Milwaukee. The Layton Boulevard West Neighbors (LBWN) is spearheading the project, which will create 20 rent-to-own townhomes on a vacant and underutilized parking lot.

State Farm will provide an equity contribution to LBWN generated from the sale of low-income housing tax credits. State Farm will purchase the tax credits, which will provide equity to the Silver City Townhomes project of about $4.3 million.

YMCA Black Achievers

State Farm is a supporter of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Black Achievers program. This program helps prepare African American youth for a bright future by providing them with mentoring relationships with existing and emerging community leaders, arranging job shadowing experiences, and coordinating an annual multi-state tour of historically black colleges. Last year, volunteers worked with more than 300 Teen Achievers and 15 local area schools.
