Be Prepared - Safety Tips in the Event of a Hurricane

When severe weather is on the way, make sure to follow these safety tips.

• Now is the time to choose where you will go if you are asked to evacuate. Keep in mind others will be evacuating also. This could slow down services.
• Tell others where you are going before you leave.
• Increased cell phone traffic could make it difficult to get in touch with others.
• ATMs and gas stations could be affected.
• Make sure you have a full tank of gas and cash for about a week before you leave.
• Make sure your prescriptions are filled.
• Keep your emergency kit up to date.
• Don't forget about your pets.

Also, if you have not recently done a home inventory, do so now to keep track of your possessions.
