Take Winter By Storm

Take Winter By Storm is a public-private partnership created to help Western Washington get prepared for winter weather and stay informed when the bad weather strikes. The Take Winter By Storm campaign website, a collaborative effort between partners King County, the City of Seattle, Puget Sound Energy, and State Farm, is a comprehensive clearinghouse of information about mitigating the potential damage from winter storms, flooding, power disruptions, and poor driving conditions. Through media demonstrations and the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, the campaign updates followers about weather events and provides tips and strategies for staying safe.

Washington Traffic Safety Commission

The Washington Traffic Safety Commission coordinates Washington’s traffic safety efforts with the goal of reducing traffic-related fatalities by 2030. With emphasis on impaired driving, speed, youthful drivers, seatbelts and occupant protection, and distracted driving, WTSC works with stakeholders to identify issues, gather, analyze, and report data on traffic injuries and fatalities, distribute state and federal traffic safety funds for projects that change driver behavior, and conduct public education campaigns. State Farm has a longstanding partnership with WTSC to achieve our shared objective of reducing crash-related deaths and injuries. With grants from State Farm, WTSC has coordinated Click it AND Ticket events across the state, instilling the habit of bucking up in young drivers and passengers. State Farm and WTSC partner on efforts to promote National Teen Driver Safety Week and to provide resources to parents of young drivers through creation of the Washington Teen Driver Safety website. State Farm also provided funding to WTSC for the Slow Down Or Pay Up campaign to encourage responsible speed on Washington’s roadways.
