PEORIA, ARIZ., (January 4, 2011) — State Farm® Insurance Companies recently announced that Centennial High School is one of twenty six winners from around the country in the second half of Friday Night Feats, a national video contest highlighting the biggest moments from last year’s high school football season. Centennial High School was awarded $2,500 and had a chance at a $15,000 grand prize for the video highlighting a play from the 2010 football season.
“Our sincere congratulations to Centennial High School on another tremendous season,” said State Farm Agent Reuben Gonzales. “We’re excited to present Centennial with the Friday Night Feats video award and commend their fans and the community who show up each week to cheer their team on.”
The videos that won $2,500 advanced to become “Finalist Nominees” of the fan-fueled football contest and were determined by fan votes on FridayNightFeats.com during the second half of the contest from Oct. 8 through Nov. 24 of last year.
A panel of qualified judges narrowed the field down to the top 10 videos from all the Finalist Nominees based on the "wow" factor, athleticism, impact of the play, and creativity of the video. The top 10 Finalists were announced on Dec. 2. Viewers had the final word on choosing the first, second and third place prize winners by voting for their favorite from Dec. 2 until Dec.10.
The winners were announced on Dec. 13. Cash prizes for the top videos went to Holy Trinity Catholic School, Cornwall, Ontario - $15,000 for the first prize, Austin High School, Sugar Land, Texas - $10,000 for second place and Winter Springs High School, Winter Springs, Florida - $5,000 for third place.
State Farm Agent Reuben Gonzales will be presenting Centennial High School with a $2,500 check during a school assembly on Friday, January 14, beginning at 1:15 pm in the school’s auditorium.
