Newark, Ohio, January 25, 2011 – State Farm® Insurance Companies is proud to recognize East Liverpool High School as one of twenty five schools from around the country to be recognized in the first half of Friday Night Feats, a national video contest highlighting the biggest moments from this year’s high school football season. East Liverpool High School will be awarded $2,500 at half-time of the Varsity HS basketball game Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
“I know what being there for your team during big moments is all about, and the first half winning videos represent those communities who came together to support their local schools and their big moment,” said Doug Flutie, Heisman trophy winner and former NFL quarterback. “State Farm is proud to help support high school football and the communities around the country who show up to encourage their team every Friday night.”
At the end of the second half a panel of qualified judges narrowed the field down to the top 10 videos from all the Finalist Nominees based on the “wow” factor, athleticism, impact of the play, and creativity of the video, which included a title and brief description of the play. Viewers had the final word on choosing the first, second and third place prize winners by voting for their favorite.
Winners were announced on Dec. 13. Cash prizes for the top videos are $15,000 for the first prize, $10,000 for second place and $5,000 for third place.
