Jersey City, NJ., October 26, 2011 - Four-time Olympian, Author and Businesswoman, Joetta Clark Diggs has again teamed up with State Farm Insurance. This time, State Farm Agent Tawanda Jackson will join forces to bring FREE, fun and productive fitness and financial literacy programs to students at Snyder High School in Jersey City, NJ. Earlier this year, State Farm Insurance successfully partnered with the Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation, Inc. to provide free health screenings, fitness and wealth building seminars to approximately 200 adults in the community. Building on the success of that event, the Head 2 Toe Fitness™ program, a popular youth fitness program developed by the Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation, Inc., will introduce nutrition, fitness and life skills training to students, coupled with a financial literacy component presented by State Farm Insurance expert Tawanda Jackson. “As a product of the Jersey City school district, I take pride in giving back to the community that educated me and am excited to be a partner in this program,” said Jackson. The fitness and financial literacy sessions will run for 4 weeks in November and December 2011.
Clark Diggs is an avid proponent of youth educational programs and is also the Executive Director of the Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation, Inc., a community-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to teaching good health and positive work ethics associated with the participation in sports to girls and boys (ages K-12). “By partnering with State Farm Insurance and their local agents, it tells the community that State Farm is truly a good neighbor and wants good things to happen in Jersey City,” stated Clark Diggs.
