Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson to help present safety grants
Cape Girardeau, MO, April 13, 2011 - State Farm® supports services that help people recover from the unexpected. In carrying out that mission, the insurer is teaming up with emergency management personnel and area schools to deliver on that promise.
On April 20, U.S. Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson will assist State Farm in presenting two grants totaling $10,000 to increase safety in southeast Missouri.
A $5,000 check will be awarded to the Bootheel Youth Museum. These funds will support a traveling exhibit to local schools that focus on earthquake preparedness.
Also receiving a $5,000 check is the Portageville Emergency Management Agency. These funds will focus on a Fire and Hazardous Weather Safety Program to teach students and parents about fire safety and prevention.
