Murfreesboro, Tenn., May 3, 2011State Farm, the largest insurer of homes and autos in Tennessee and the nation, has added three temporary inspection facilities in Tennessee to handle the growing number of auto claims received from last week’s severe wind and hail storms.
As of today, State Farm has received 19,311 auto claims with 70% of them originating from the Knoxville area. The Tri-Cities and Chattanooga areas were also hard hit. Almost 5,000 claims have been reported from those parts of the state.
State Farm policyholders who have an appointment set for an inspection will have the damage to their vehicles estimated at one of these locations:
Knoxville
8380-8390 Kingston Pike (former Rodgers Cadillac)
Blountville
354 Shadowtown Road (former Outlet Mall)
Chattanooga
2120 Chapman Road (former Crown Auto Dealership)
These conveniently located facilities operate on a scheduled appointment basis only. To schedule an appointment, or if a vehicle is not drivable, State Farm policyholders should call 1-800-SF Claim (1-800-732-5246).
Home and business owners also suffered substantial damage as a result of last week’s storms. The number of Fire (homeowners, renters, condo, manufactured home, commercial) claims continues to rise and currently stands at nearly 14,000.
“We are working to take care of our customers’ needs as quickly as possible. We are seeing our most severe losses first and will continuing seeing losses until every claim has been addressed,” said spokeswoman Judy McConkey.
