State Farm® and Major League Baseball® Go To Bat for Silver Spring-Area Fan

Brooklyn, N.Y., August 5, 2011 – State Farm® and Major League Baseball® (MLB) today announced Eric Bilsky of Silver Spring, Md., has been selected as the second weekly winner in the State Farm Go To Bat program - an online, charitable giving initiative driven by the State Farm commitment to helping communities get to a better state.

As a winner, Bilsky's selected charity, Population Services International (PSI), received the second of 10 weekly $18,000 donations. In addition, Bilsky will be awarded a trip for two to the 2011 MLB World Series and will participate in an on-field ceremony showcasing the cumulative impact of the program. In addition to the weekly donations, State Farm also will present a $25,000 donation to the charity that finishes the promotional campaign with the highest Go To Bat game batting average.

“I can’t thank State Farm enough for their generosity and commitment to helping a great organization like PSI,” said Bilsky. “Not to mention, as a baseball fan, the opportunity to attend the World Series is the ultimate dream for my son and I. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Baseball fans can still enter and go to bat for their favorite causes by visiting www.statefarm.com/gotobat. Fans can select one of the charities on the website that means the most to them, then swing for the fences in the State Farm Go To Bat game to increase the batting average of their selected charity. The Go To Bat program concludes on September 26.

“The Go To Bat program is a great example of our mission to helping causes and individuals get to a better state,” said State Farm agent Cindi Scafide. “We’re delighted that this week’s winner will have the chance to personally experience the 2011 World Series while at the same time, helping an organization like PSI that he’s passionate about.”

Fans can also increase both their and their charity’s chances of winning by returning to www.statefarm.com/gotobat and playing the online State Farm Go To Bat game on a daily basis.Players can share their participation on Facebook to get an additional home run and challenge their friends to “Go To Bat” for something that is important to them.
