WHAT:	This is the first time the Collegiate open has come to California (June 13-15, 2011) Some of the best high school and collegiate players will be competing for an opportunity to automatically qualify for the Collegiate Players Tour National Championships in August at the Texas Star Golf Course in Dallas, Texas State Farm Agents and Collegiate Golfers will also team up to benefit local charities There will be 96 collegiate golfers competing in the State Farm Collegiate Open

The State Farm Collegiate Open, presented by ServiceMaster, will make its first appearance in California June 13-15, 2011. The Collegiate Tour, in its 18th year, continues to provide summer golf competition to high school and college men and women ages 17 - 24. On the first day some of the best high school and college players, along with State Farm Agents will hit the greens at the award winning Empire Lakes in Rancho Cucamonga for a charitable fundraiser benefiting the Claremont West End Auxiliary Children's Fund and the Polio Fund of Rotary International. The remaining two days, these collegiate golfers will play three rounds of golf vying for top 5 finishes to automatically qualify for the championships where amateur ranking points will be awarded to the top 10 collegians (men and women).

Every effort is made to make the competition affordable, convenient, and above all, fun for the competitors.
