State Farm® Contributes To The Newark Campus Development Fund

Contribution in Honor of Former Regional Vice President Cal Roebuck

Newark, OH, February 11, 2011 – State Farm recently announced a $21,062 donation to benefit Central Ohio Technical College and The Ohio StateUniversity at Newark through the Newark Campus Development Fund. Education and community development are key components in State Farm’s goal of helping build safe, strong, educated communities. The Newark Campus Development Fund provides funding for innovative projects and scholarships for COTC or Ohio State Newark students. As part of the Next Generation Challenge, Granville philanthropists J. Gilbert and Louella H. Reese will be matching this contribution, bringing the total impact to our community to $41,124.

State Farm’s Vice President-Operations Eschol Curl presented the check to Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee and Ohio State Newark Dean Dr. Bill MacDonald.

State Farm Insurance made the donation in honor of Calvin E. Roebuck, former Regional Vice President for State Farm’s Ohio office. Mr. Roebuck was a major part of the Newark Campus’ growth over the past decade and served a number of roles including Interim Dean of Faculty for COTC, Sr. Development Officer and Assistant to former Newark Campus President, Anne Federlein. A true believer in the power of education and a passionate member of the community, Mr. Roebuck is often quoted as having said, “Regardless of the question, the answer is education.”
