San Diego, CA (October 14, 2011) - State Farm Insurance Companies announced that Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, CA is one of 26 winners from around the country in the first half of Friday Night Feats, a national video contest highlighting the biggest moments from this year’s high school football season. Eastlake High School has been awarded $2,500 and has a chance at a $15,000 grand prize for the video highlighting a play from the 2011 football season. These twenty-six winning videos were determined by fan votes on www.FridayNightFeats.com during the first half of the contest from Aug. 25 through Oct.6.

“As a local State Farm Agent, I am extremely happy to see that one of our community schools, Eastlake High School, was chosen as a winner of this great contest.” said Chula Vista State Farm Agent, Bernardo Vasquez. “As soon as I saw the video, I contacted the athletic director at Eastlake High School and encouraged him to submit it for consideration. It was as simple as that - submit a video of an exciting play - and have a chance to win!”

Fans, athletes and coaches still have a chance to show off their big plays by entering a video during the second half of the contest which runs from Oct. 10 until Nov. 28. Eligible participants can submit videos to www.FridayNightFeats.com, and enter the competition for the best Friday Night Feat of the 2011 high school football season. Fan votes during the second half will determine which schools win $2,500 and advance to become “Finalist Nominees” in the State Farm Friday Night Feats video contest.

At the end of the second half - Nov. 28 - A panel will narrow the field of “Finalist Nominees” down to the top 10 videos based on the "wow" factor, athleticism, impact of the play, and creativity of the video. The panel includes MaxPreps football experts Stephen Spiewak, Steve Montoya, Andrew Puccioni, Chris Stonebraker and Blake McFarland. Viewers have the final word, choosing the first, second, and third place winners by voting for their favorites from Dec. 9 until Dec.16. The winners will be announced on Dec. 19. Cash prizes for the top videos are $15,000 for first place, $10,000 for second place and $5,000 for third place.

Please join us in congratulating Eastlake High School! We look forward to seeing if their video makes the Top 10 when fans have completed voting for the top prize.
