State Farm® Helps You Prepare for Hurricane Irene

Seaford, DE., Aug. 28, 2011 - State Farm the leading insurer of homes in Delaware and the nation, is ready for Hurricane Irene. Helping people recover from the unexpected is a fundamental part of our mission.  Our Catastrophe Teams are preparing to mobilize to the area, and will be ready to respond and help our customers in all impacted areas.

As Hurricane Irene makes its way toward the US, there is still time for you to prepare:

• Create a home inventory. If you do experience a loss as a result of Hurricane Irene, an inventory will assist in the settlement of a covered claim. A free home inventory checklist is available.
• Create a video walk-through of your property or take photos. The more items you inventory the better, paying special attention to your most valuable items.
• Don't forget to include items in your basement, attic, garage and any detached structures.
• If you have any questions about which items are covered by your insurance policy, contact your State Farm agent.
