Nashville, Tenn., Aug. 31, 2011 - State Farm proudly presents Latino Family Festival at Nashville Zoo on Sunday, Sept. 18. The celebration of Latin culture features Spanish translators stationed throughout the Zoo, along with live entertainment, special activities, giveaways and more.
Latino Family Festival is the kick off to the 2011 Conexion Americas' Hispanic Heritage Month. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Zoo staff and docents will partner with Spanish translators to answer guest questions and deliver animal shows, historic home tours and educational presentations. Activities also include live music and traditional dance performances, moon bouncers for kids and giveaways throughout the day. Spanish language maps will also be available.
Leading up to the event, several local State Farm Insurance agents are offering a Zoo coupon good for one free admission with the purchase of another admission of equal or greater value. There will be a $5 per vehicle parking fee. The coupon is valid only for Latino Family Festival (Sept. 18) and is available through State Farm agencies of Fernando Arguello, Gina Gwynne and Darnell Clay; Entertainment Circle; La Sabrosita radio; Conexion Americas and the Zoo's website. Latino Family Festival is sponsored Conexion Americas and supported by La Sabrosita radio, Telefutura and Entertainment Circle.
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed across the country from Sept. 15 - Oct. 15 and celebrates the presence, contributions and rich cultural heritage of Latinos in the United States.
