State Farm® Selects Volunteer Of The Year

Murfreesboro, Tennessee, April 12, 2011 - State Farm employee Jim Whitaker has been selected as “Volunteer of the Year”. Each year the local State Farm Operations Center in Murfreesboro recognizes one employee from the states of Tennessee and Kentucky for their contributions to their community during National Volunteer Week.

Whitaker is a 9-year employee of State Farm Insurance and currently serves as an auto claim representative in the Murfreesboro Operations Center. Whitaker is active both in the workplace and in his community.

Whitaker champions the efforts of Junior Achievement as a classroom volunteer, community recruiter, and volunteer at Junior Achievement’s Biz Town. He is a member of State Farm’s Young Business Professionals Employee Resource Group as well as an integral member of the State Farm Summer Business Camp which is coordinated by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Whitaker is an ordained deacon, licensed minister and very active member of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.

Whitaker lives in Murfreesboro with his wife Mary and their children Michael, Annie, Janie and Allen.
