Tempe, AZ Jan 10, 2011 – In the continuation of a unique partnership with The University of Arizona and Arizona State University, State Farm Insurance is sponsoring the Territorial Cup Series Food Fight. The purpose of the Food Fight is to collect as much food as possible at selected sporting events where the UA plays ASU. The next game will be the UA vs. ASU basketball game on Saturday, January 15, at the McKale Center in Tucson, AZ.
Even after the holidays, more than ever, local Arizona food banks need contributions to help meet the increased demand from people needing assistance. State Farm is challenging all fans attending this game to bring non-perishable food to donate. There will be multiple food drop locations surrounding the McKale Center. Look for “Collection Point” signs and bins and people wearing State Farm T-Shirts to assist you.
Recipient of the donated food will be the Community Food Bank. "The Community Food Bank’s challenge is to ease hunger in Arizona. We are thankful for the partnership with UA4Food, and State Farm. This unique partnership goes a long way in helping us meet that challenge" said Jack Parris , Marketing and Communications Manager, Community Food Bank.
